Claims Handler (Dry Bulk)

JUST ONE, on behalf of its client, a leading dry bulk shipping company based in Athens, is looking for a:

Responsibilities:

Cargo damage or loss
Demurrage and delays in loading/discharge operations
Off-hire claims
Charterparty disputes
Matters covered under P&I (Protection & Indemnity) and FD&D (Freight, Demurrage & Defence) insurance policies
Analyze and process claims in line with company guidelines, ensuring prompt and effective resolution
Liaise with clients, insurers, and legal teams to gather relevant details and facilitate claims management
Assess policy coverage, liabilities, and damages to determine claim validity
Negotiate settlements to reach fair and favorable outcomes for all parties
Stay updated on developments in maritime law, insurance regulations, and industry best practices

Requirements:

Degree in Maritime Studies, Law, or Insurance (postgraduate degree in Maritime Law preferred)
Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing P&I or FD&D claims
Experience with P&I Clubs, shipping companies, or legal firms specializing in maritime matters
Strong knowledge of P&I rules, charterparty agreements, and international shipping regulations
Analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Fluency in English
