Property & Casualty Underwriter
Responsibilities:
Evaluate and underwrite property and casualty insurance applications in accordance with company guidelines and regulations
Assess risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and pricing
Review and analyse loss histories, claims data, and other relevant information to make informed underwriting decisions
Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop and implement strategies to attract new business and retain existing clients
Manage renewal underwriting process and make recommendations for policy adjustments or cancellations
Conduct market research and stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments to enhance underwriting practices
Maintain accurate underwriting documentation and ensure compliance with company policies and procedure
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in property and casualty underwriting
Strong knowledge of insurance industry regulations and underwriting principles
Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in the use of underwriting software and other relevant tools
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environments
